Colloidal silver

How Silvaris is made, what 20 ppm means, and how colloidal silver differs from ionic silver. Educational only.

What it is

Colloidal silver is a suspension of fine silver particles in water. In this process an electrical current passes through pure silver electrodes in highly purified water. Ultra-fine silver stays dispersed rather than settling at once as sediment.

The Silvaris label describes a crystal-clear solution with a stable Tyndall effect: about 80% silver nanoparticles and 20% ionic silver, at 20 ppm, in steam-distilled water. No additives, salts, proteins or chemical reducing agents.

Purify the water

Steam-distilled water, then a three-stage carbon filtration path, so generation starts from a clean, low-conductivity base.

Pure silver electrodes

99.99% pure silver plates are the metal source. Most of the silver surface sits in the water, spaced for a stable current.

Constant current

A regulated current and circulating water move silver into the liquid more evenly than an unregulated setup.

Polarity reversal

Electrode polarity is reversed during the run so silver does not build up on the plates and batches stay repeatable.

Stop at 20 ppm

Conductivity rises as silver enters the water. Production stops at the labelled 20 ppm rather than by guesswork.

Amber glass

The liquid is filled into a 500ml amber bottle with a black cap and labelled with volume, concentration and storage.

ppm, colloidal and ionic

PPM means parts per million. 20 ppm is twenty parts of silver per million parts of solution. A higher number is not automatically a better product. Volume, water, packaging and an honest label matter as well.

Colloidal silver emphasises suspended particles. Ionic silver is often described as mainly dissolved silver ions. Brands differ. Read the label of the bottle in front of you.

Amber glass limits light. Keep the bottle closed, in a cool place, away from electronic devices and direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep it out of reach of children.

Use and responsibility

Suggested use is printed on the bottle: hold under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing. Adults 20ml. Children 10ml. It may also be applied topically or used in a nebuliser. That is the label, not a personal recommendation.

Shake the bottle gently before use. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medicine, or under the care of a clinician, ask a qualified professional first. Stop and seek advice if you notice unwanted effects.
